I am a software developer with seven years of experience in the education field as a science and technology educator. I always had a passion for teaching and helping others but wanted to move beyond the whiteboard and apply my science knowledge and problem-solving skills to create tangible products used by millions.

I have dedicated over 1000+ hours to learning CS fundamentals, implementing best-practices, and sharpening my skills in JavaScript, React, Ruby on Rails, Express, Node.js, SQL, and HTML/CSS. I am experienced in building dynamic single-page applications, working on collaborative teams, and adapting to new roles and shifting priorities.

Interests

When I'm not coding, I enjoy most of my time being outdoors. I'm an avid rock climber and I try to get out to Red Rock Canyon or Bishop when possible. I also love to hike and backpack. My past trips include summiting Yosemite's Half Dome, hiking down the Zion Narrows Top-Down route, and backpacking in Havasupai. When I'm not outdoors, you can find me at home tending to my aquariums and dreaming of my next aquascape.
